JBEAM is collision data for the game. The model is in a dae format. If it is in cached.dts then that's cache data which is pretty much deprecated now.
in all the jbeam files you find sections named "flexbodies". The name of your individual model parts go in there. If not then they won't show up. edit Oh sorry I read the question backwards
i have a question, when i put a vehicle from beamng into blender, all configurations pop up and they are all stuck together. For example, I have 5 hoods stuck in each other. Do you know how to prevent this?
you can hide meshes you dont want to see by selecting it and pressing "h" iirc, or just deleting them if you don't need them you also might want to take note if which part(s) you are hiding, you can take note of that here you can unhide them by finding their mesh name in the menu on the right (at least i think it's right, i don't remember my left and rights, but you'll find it) if you're having a hard time getting to the part you want, you can move it/other parts out the way, select and hide/delete the parts you don't want, and move the parts you want back to their original locations by using this pullout tab and setting it's location back to 0,0,0
Sometimes when I port a car in beamng I will put it on another cars jbeam. It saves time and gives you a basic idea of what it will look like in game. Although that is technically meshslapping, it works fine for a base. --- Post updated --- As for the duplicate parts I have no idea. I am not a pro jbeamer. I think that @queenstar is right.
Hello, i have another question if you don't mind. When i load up the car models into blender, it has no wheels. I want them to be there but i don't know how, maybe you could help?
The wheel Models are seperate. You would have to import one, put it onto the car and duplicate it into the other wheel arches.
install folder (through steam this would be Steam/steamapps/common)/BeamNG.drive/content/common/wheels/wheels.dae if you're looking for a specific file, you can open the wheel jbeam, search for the wheel's name, and find it's mesh name in the flexbodies section. (when you import wheels.dae it puts all the wheels the game has into one single spot and none of them are named specifically, so it'll be hard to find what you're looking for) (last number depends on wheel's lugs)
Wait @Alex_Farmer557, how do I get the .dae for the official vehicles and when I drag the .dae file in it does nothing still.
the official dae will be in a .zip file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BeamNG.drive\content\vehicles and you have to use the "import" function in blender
