Boot drive is C:\, drive the game is on is F:\. By default the game tries to update what it can't find on my C:\ drive. How do I make it update on the F:\ drive?

Nevermind, I figured it out. Turns out the updater doesn't actually do anything unless your install is on your C:\ drive. You just have to manually copy the files over yourself. I'll leave this here in case anyone has the same issue.

Yes, there is some magic in it:

    - if the update is executed on a drive not C or
    - if the updater is in a folder containing the name "beamng"

it updates at its current location. Otherwise it will fall back to the default path in c:.

Every time I try to run the update, it fails and has an error that says "Update cannot be done at this time" or something along those lines. I am updating on F:\ drive and the folder is named BeamNG. The updater always creates a BeamNG folder in the default install location (C:\Users\username\appdata\local\), so I'm assuming it's trying to update that location, finding nothing there and failing.

Nevermind I figured it out. Had to do with the permissions of my folder.
