How do you seperate the cars once they get stuck together.

Hi All,

I play this as a driving simulator but would also like to play this as a derby game.

title says it all really, I have tried using editor to separate but cannot understand how to select a car to separate (I can move everything accept a car), also if I try to resume game I am stuck in free camera mode with no way to get back to my car or AI stops working. I have tried removing bumpers but still they get stuck, I have tried different cars with different cars and they all get stuck together in no time.

I have looked online for an answer to this and read "in demo derby cars get stuck on each other too easy" please could someone share with me a solid method to separate and be able to carry on after without having to quit?
I know how to reset all cars to start again but would like to actually get to the end of a derby without giving up and quitting the game, I am a paid alpha member and want to enjoy another aspect of the game.

Besides just ramming some more stuff and hoping you come free, you can't :/

Its a game bug and a fix is planned.

I am new to beamNG Drive, how long do updates/bug fixes/new content usually take to be released?

The last update was last summer actually :/ Race update is coming soon but won't have the fix for this bug in it. The devs are aware and will sort it eventually.

 

You actually can separate cars in the editor. You have to freecam first, and click on the BeamNG logo to move it. Alternatively, find it in the object tree on the right hand side, as the actual object can become disassociated with the car over time, especially if pieces fall off.

 

Double sided collision faces are coming later IIRC, but at the moment, press F7, fly away, and press F8.

Thanks for the replies, I have tried the editor but eventually end up having to quit the game due to issues in the editor so that's no good at this time.
I have tried the F7-F8, with a single car pressing F7 resets the car with damage staying but during 2 cars (1 AI) F7 repairs my car for some reason, F8 just brings up a stats menu for me.

I guess I will give up until a new build is released, looking at SixSixSevenSeven's reply it looks like updates/new content is few and far between but I guess that's what happens when you
buy something in the alpha stages...

Well the next update overhauls the entire game code so was a massive piece of work. Update times should be much quicker afterwards.

The next 2 updates are dubbed pre-race update and race update, should both be on the way soon. Update after that mentions delivery missions and a fix for inter-vehicle collisions so that should sort your issue right out.
