This is not a feature request thread, this is more daydreaming and discussion.

I've been playing BeamNG for a while now and I absolutely love the direction its heading. The realism in the way the cars are modeled and parts interact with each other is incredible. What I'm most curious about is how realistic do the devs plan to make it? Will the campaign mode feature vehicle wear and tear as well as damage repairs?

I imagine a scenario like this: We have our car that we've been customizing to race. We take it through a "race weekend"... time trials, qualifying, practice, race, ect. Once our weekend is over, we take a look at the car and check which parts need fixing or replacing. Performing engine maintenance after every event keeps the power level at its highest. Go a few races without doing this and your speed starts to drop. The higher HP the engine, the more often maintenance is needed. Slower cars doing shorter races can take longer between tire changes, but some might require changes every race or even multiple times per race.

All of this comes with a cost, of course. Some minor damage is left unfixed until the following week because a new axle or radiator is needed. Or maybe you ignore that crumpled bumper because you really want that turbocharger. Once you upgrade the turbocharger you suddenly realize you need better brakes.

I see a ton of potential in this game to make a very realistic vehicle and racing simulator. Obviously there lots of features that need to be implemented (more thermals for tires and brakes, tire wear, part fatigue, ect) before BeamNG reaches anything near the level I described above.

What types of "realistic" features do you hope to see in BeamNG in the future?

Its going to be so cool when you actually have to be careful when driving and skill aswell as risk vs reward is indirectly implomented by having a career that you cannot restart without having a big consequence. Driving carefully yet fast and learning the limits of your car will actually have a purpose.

Yes! This is exactly what I want. I want to be reward for clean racing by not having to spend my money to fix my car. I would love to see a career mode where you can move up the ranks and eventually drive pure race cars (open wheel, stock car, touring, ect).

Id like to see scenarios such as you get the T75 with a tow bed and you drive around collecting junk cars/crashed cars.

Even if multiplayer can never be accomplished a campaign that addresses the points in your post would be fantastic. the ability to own a car and upgrade/fix it and use it in challenges/series and events in the in game world would be incredible. With wear added to certain parts this dynamic would be further advanced; maybe you want the cheaper sport tires that last longer but do not grip as well as slicks, or maybe deciding if you want brakes that heat up quick but are easy to use, or stronger ones that do not fade as much, or race adjustable ones etc... Beam has the potential to be quite realistic in terms of simulation, maybe not as pure in terms of track racing as a game like Rfactor2, or Iracing but no other game i can think of has as close to sim quality driving as beam while still providing user choice and free roam aspects. Too often people only look at the damage model and ignore the fun driving the game provides.

I think a SLRR style career mode would be amazing for BeamNG.

I think that maybe there should be like an indirect multiplayer system, with ranking among the world against other players.
