I want to edit the horsepower of and engine, but not the torque. Where in the engine J-beam file can I find the horsepower, NOT RPM to Torque.

I'd like to make a mod with that.

That's not exactly possible, either in game or in real life. Horsepower is directly related to torque, they're just different units measuring different things.

Mathematically speaking, horsepower is (RPM * torque in ft-lbs) / 5252

So I guess if you want the horsepower you could create an engine that makes the same amount of torque over its entire rev range, but just increases RPM. However, I don't think it'd be very nice to drive.

That said, there are certain torque curves that produce more horsepower than torque and vice versa. It's all about what your torque band looks like: high torque down low, low torque up high and small rev range (ie old american V8s with lots of valve float) == "torquey" engine, not much horsepower. Low torque down low, medium torque up up, high rev range (ie small displacement turbo engine) == high horsepower engine, not much torque

Yep. Diesel engines have a bunch of torque but little rpm, that`s why they have little horsepower. And say 2 engines have the same torque but 1 revs 2,000 rpm more than the other. The 1 with more rpm will have more horse.
