Hello, so after learning how to do 3d modelling and importing into beamng with materials and textures now i'm trying to figure out how to change the type of material, for example i can model a 3d cube that's made of concrete, but i don't know how to make it of ice and behave like ice meaning being slippery for cars to go on, or making a cube of sand that the surface behaves like sand and so on. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to assign these types of material to my 3d creations? because so far everthing i import ends up being made of concrete. thank you
It was in the material editor before this update but they took it out of there for some reason, so you can only do it in the main.materials.json file, look at a map's materials file, and you will see what you have to do
tried playing around with the main.materials.json file but i cant get the materials to work, any guide out there about this?
I don't think there is an up to date guide, look how it's done on vanilla maps or the few mod maps with PBR support and figure out from there
Nekitu has a solution you can try here: https://beamng.com/threads/how-to-change-ground-type.86558/#post-1474185
That solution fixes the groundtype menu selector but even after selecting a different type the 3d model always behaves like concrete even tho i see the main.matrial.json file changing to the type I selected (ICE, MUD...). It's like it's stuck in concrete mode
