Thank you so much! I really should just try stuff out next time to see if it works. Thanks again!
Hey, looks good, i am currentally working on a drift track, speaking of drift track, do you think you culd add one?
Something like that has a better chance of being added after the initial release but while I am still making updates to the map. I currently don't have in in high-priority.
is fine, i gave up on mine, i hope yours go good!
Quick question: Correct me if I'm wrong, but guessing its USA, what part is it? I'm just curious ;P
The map looks absolutely great, hope you dont lose the will to create something that awesome.
Nowhere specific, but I have been mostly going by inspiration and references from random places on the east coast.
really nice map cant wait for it!
Today's update involves a big change to the map which affects all paved roads.
To understand this, I first need to explain how I initially made this map. The map files actually originate from the original East Coast USA. Because of this, a lot of the textures and assets are from there. As the game got updated, better textures were added and I wanted to include them. This is actually my second map that I have made for the game, so I was going to end up making mistakes which may need fixing later.
The result was a mess of files. The materials were poorly assigned and I had trouble managing many redundant or duplicated materials. I also realised the old roads were not that nice, and so now, I have fixed them. There used to be a dark and light type of road, but I decided to make it easier to create with only one kind - dark asphalt roads. Fortunately, the transition is pretty simple: In a text editor, rename everything in the files using find and replace, and also delete any of the materials that aren't needed.
Here is the result:
Looking wicked, almost dev quality !
Looks great for some high-speed highway crashes. Are you going to have a section of highway with ditches like this?
With the roads further out from the centre of the map, I am going to try and make them similar to interstate highways, so wide shoulders and ditches like you showed would be there. This would most likely be on the highway loop that circles the entire map.
Nice map i like it
Just saying, having two versions of the map would be great.
One for normal users that has standard textures blah blah
then one for users with very high end computers with super high quality textures and assets, to really put it to the test.
though I guess it would be hard to make wouldn’t it.
will you make big city with big highway and tunnels and skyscrapers business district tram lines depot and factory
Very nice map. Just saw it on this yt video .
One question, is the map focused only on the highways? Because i personally would find interesting some places along the road related to vehicles, like a highway patrol station, or a trucking company
Wow nice work!
Time to give an update!
Someone commented on my YouTube video and that reminded me of this project. I had completely forgotten and moved on to other things.
I've not worked on this map for ages (it's over 2 years old!) and it's gotten to a point where I've realised that I should just release it, rather than have it sitting around with no one to play with it.
The thing is, the map already was playable very much, but due to the massive scale, it has taken a long time to get anywhere near what I considered worthy for release. It's half way done overall and even though that is plenty, it still looks mostly unfinished because of this. However, over the past few days I have been touching it up and getting it prepared. The main goal is to get it to look good from more angles. The montains were a priority as they can be seen from almost all parts of the map. Other parts have been covered up with forests so from the ground, it will not look unfinished and the immersiveness will be there.
The release is very soon. My goal would be to get it out within the next two weeks.
For now, here are some screenshots:
Looking at the whole map:
The new mountains with forests clearly visible. In a later update, I want to put some winding roads through there so it isn't wasted space.
The hills in the distance have been added/improved.
A couple of houses at the top of a hill. Looking south towards the dam (not visible). The mountains look nice now.
A small lookout above the dam.

Not at all. In fact, I was thinking there wasn't enough emphasis on the highways! Highways do stretch to all parts of the map and connect areas, but there are plenty of roads which allow you to drive pretty much anywhere without taking them.
I have posted some screenshots in my above post. Take a look at them, especially the aerial views because there is a lot to explore.
