I cannot for the life of me figure out how the World Editor and its camera works

Hi, it's me again. After a bunch of shenanigans with vehicle mods, I decided I wanted to try my making maps, but unfortunately I have no clue how the World Editor in this game works. More specifically, I don't know how the camera works.
I know I can open the thing with F11. I stumbled upon that while messing with keys when first trying the game, went "oooh" like that monkey brain neuron activation meme. But after that, the World Editor is just... unresponsive.
I can't move the camera whatsoever. I pressed and held down everything I could, didn't move at all. Granted, I did change pretty much every keybind in the game, but even after checking what keys did what, pressing them still did nothing. Running the game in safe mode didn't change a thing either.
Literally the most I could do is import a heightmap (of which I have many), but after version 0.35 even that doesn't work. But that's the least of my concerns right now. How am I supposed to do anything if I can't even move the camera??
Am I just stupid?

I tried that, I tried everything from WASD to arrow keys to even IJKL, nothing works

 

You've probably started making a new map. And you cannot move until you add a camera object.
I have no idea how to do that sorry. Map making is near impossible to figure out by yourself, wish it there where proper instructions in how it works. But with that said people are able to build maps nonetheless.

 

Thank you. I think I've seen an option to add a camera somewhere, I'll try that when I have the time.
