I have no idea what I'm doing.

There are 2 things I want to do.
    • The first one (which I'm hoping will be simple) is creating an H-Series passenger van (with windows and rows of bench seats). I'm guessing it'll be easy because all I'll have to do is add windows and seats to the existing H series.
    • The second one is restarting a mod that was abandoned by its original creator because the creator was banned. Here it is: http://www.beamng.com/threads/covet-sedan.26665/page-2 This Covet sedan is really awesome imo, but the back panel just likes to float off of the car and people seem to have had previous issues with deformation. For now, I just wanna get that back panel back on.
I have absolutely no experience with coding, or creating a BeamNG vehicle with anything. All help is supported, I am a total noob.

Have you checked the wiki? There is a lot of stuff there.
You will need blender and notepad for everything if you didn't know that already :)
Making windows is not very easy, you will see why when you start with blender. Making the windows deform is even harder I think.
For the covet sedan, my best guess is that the rear panel isn't on the right spot in the .DAE file. Deformation works with jbeams, and I havent looked into that yet, but I looks like it is quite hard to fine-tune.

    Maybe just try out this?

Well, it'll be hard to get his 'permission' to use it so... I wouldn't plan to release anything if you do. You could try it out for your own fun though. It's a good way to start learning how to mod. I'd recommend starting with the base Covet, and seeing if you can add the parts you like from the other mod.
If you have a strong desire to learn, and enjoy challenging your mind - you can do this. It is a lot to learn though, even for those with previous coding experience... Spend a day watching Blender tutorials on Youtube, and practicing different techniques used to modify models. Selecting, positioning, ect. Then tinker with some of the vehicle Jbeams. Eventually, it will start to make sense :)

    Good luck!
