I'm likely going to make some modifications to the taillights still, such as making them a bit squarer, and narrowing them a bit more in the middle, but I'm probably sticking with this design. The design is largely inspired by the Honda CR-V, which has similar style vertical taillights, so I don't think its too unreasonable for the Kashira to have similar style lights. Also, the smaller lights are still an option. Inline four models will have taillights that are very similar to the old style, and a body-colored filler panel on the pillar, while V6 models replace that panel with an extension for the taillights.
Looks amazing so far, but I have a few questions/suggestions. Is the sliding rear door on one side, or both? I know that many minivans in the 90's had a sliding door only on one side, so that's why I'm asking. If so, then you should make dual rear doors an option, like on the V6 models. Lastly, the rear windshield wiper looks a little small for the window area, I would suggest making it longer. Other than that, I am very excited for this mods release!
Thank you! (╹◡╹) Yeah, minivans are great! I drive an ‘07 Odyssey myself. Now, granted, I’ve only ever driven like two cars (the other being like an old Chevy Malibu or something), but from my limited viewpoint, the Odyssey is a really nice car! Like you said, minivans have loooads of space (not that I ever use it), and they don’t feel too different from a sedan to drive, besides the higher driving position. Also, the Odyssey is suuuuper torquey. If there’s like any water on the road whatsoever, it’ll just spin the wheels if you hit the throttle more than like a milimeter coming off a stop. Now, my van doesn’t have any electrical problems like yours did with the headlight switch, but it has several mechanical oddities, such as brakes that don’t work if they’re too cold (which makes driving in winter a whole process since you have to let the car warm up), and a transmission that like slams into gear if you try to shift into reverse when you’re parked on a hill. I feel like all minivans must have quirky issues like that or something... And wow! Thank you so much for including the Kashira as part of your map! If you want any other screenshots or anything, just let me know! (*^▽^*) And yeah, I’d definitely like to make a larger wheelbase minivan in the future, whether it be by moving the axle on this one or something else entirely. Maybe with Ibishu cornering the compact minivan market in the 90s, Hirochi decided to market a larger minivan of their own. Something mid-engined perhaps? (*´ω`*) --- Post updated --- Fair enough, I’ll see about lowering them a bit. Probably at least to under the spoiler, because I was noticing myself that that looked a little weird. --- Post updated --- The plan right now is for it to have two sliding doors, but seeing how things are going, I might add a single door version as well. And yeah, the wiper does look a little funky. Most of the rear area is still pretty sloppy like that right now, since I’m still modifying some things a bit, but it’ll definitely start to look nicer as it progresses a bit more. (*^^*) The plan right now is for I4 models to have the shorter ones, while the V6 models have the taller ones, but I might make it so that AWD models have the taller ones instead. Either way, higher trim levels will have the taller taillights, while the lower trim levels will just get filler panels.
Slight, unimportant question here, would aftermarket bodyparts be a possibility at any point? I.e; Hood scoops, hill climb parts, carbon fiber bonnet etc. (Also is the Night fever config a reference to the Night fever vocaloid song or just pure coincidence?)
I personally like the design of the vertical tail-lights, I think it really gives it a nice unique look. Also now that I've seen a proper side on image of it, I've changed my mind on the rear doors. The proportions look fine
you sound like doug demuro in this --- Post updated --- i think this looks great but i think that the sliding doors should be longer --- Post updated --- the tall tail lights remind me of a volvo
I’m going to be adding at least some aftermarket parts like that. I think I’m definitely going to try to add the hillclimb parts, because a hillclimb minivan would be hillarious! (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) And yes, it’s a direct reference to Luka Luka Night Fever. (*´∇`*) I haven’t done any jbeam modifications yet, but I’ll post progress as soon as there is some! I’m super excited for the sliding doors as well! (*^▽^*)
You know, I just thought of this: What if you made a Group B rally minivan. That would be stupidly funny. Give it some like insane aero body kit or something... that would be funny.
That was for the track, not for the dirt roads like a rally car. Also, that was the Renault Espace F1.
that looks really amazing! I think the rear lights make it look a bit newer than the current Kashira, probably from 1994-1999 or something like that. I think it is incredible though. Just one suggestion, not really that important but most minivans throughout the 90s had amber indicators in the rear. I think it would make the taillights look more like the minivans of the period and the just red and white taillights look too new (as the lights form the CR-V pictured were from a 2004ish facelift, 10 years too new.) Most minivans had amber indicators back then (Honda Odyssey, Nissan Prairie, Toyota Previa etc) so I think it would look slightly better, just a suggestion though
