I look away for 5 minutes, and all the sudden this goes from looking like a big Pessima (which was still awesome) to an entirely different thing. Awesome work! Keep it up, because somehow you are putting to shame all the other modders that never dared to tackle the Minivan problem. I just have one suggestion, please make the interior as cool as the minivan looks outside.
Heyya everyone! I apologize for not doing much over the last week. With traveling for Thanksgiving and stuff, I really haven't had much of any time to work on anything. But I'm back now! Yay! (*⌒▽⌒*)θ~♪ The back doors slide, like most newer minivans. The sliding mechanism is still a bit of a work-in-progress, but this is what it looks like in it's current state: It works, but the door kinda just floats there, which is a little weird. I'll definitely be improving it eventually though! This updated version of the Kashira is supposed to be more 1996ish, but I see where you're coming from. The 200BX has a pretty similar design though, so I don't think it's too outlandish. Then again, none of the official Ibishu models have sunroofs, and the updated Kashira does, so I'm using a bit of artistic freedom as well. Like filling in the gap between the two generations? That's a really interesting idea! I'll definitely keep that in mind for future projects. (^^) If anything, the old Kashira is actually more SUV-ish than the new one. The updated version still retains the somewhat boxy shape, but it also adds sliding doors, which are an essential minivan feature nowadays. That being said, I never intended for this to be a stereotypical minivan. The Kashira is kinda like cross between an Odyssey and CR-V. So performance-wise, I can see how it'd be kinda SUV-ish, but the design is most similar to a minivan, I think. Hopefully that kinda made sense. Basically, it's a minivan, but it does also have some sportier, SUV, influences. Thank you! And as for a new interior, I'm actually working on one right now! I've decided to go with a dash-mounted automatic shifter, largely inspired by the 2007 Odyssey (my car). This should make a bit more sense on the manual versions (since it'll just swap in a dash-mounted manual shifter), and it looks a little bit more unique and modern. Ah, yeah. That was one of the major issues with the previous version. I've already improved that a bit for the new version, so it should be better after the update. I've also been tweaking the suspension a bit to try and solve the alignment issues of the previous version. It definitely still needs a bit of work, but it'll hopefully be a loooooot better. (^.^)
cannot wait for the Update to come out. would you be able to make a proper jap style config ? bozo exhaust, and little goodies down the line like that?
WhyBeAre made a video on this mod, and it has made so much progress since then. Keep up the good work!
I kinda like the idea of back-engineering this Pessima into a 92-96 sedan. Getting the new Pessima V6 on a slightly smaller and sportier platform would be fun, I imagine.
Yeah! I’m planning to add a variety of custom parts like that. I’m hoping to add a few parts like that in this update (the roof box being one of them), and add fancier stuff (body kit, alternate lights, etcetera) soon after. Oh, sorry! A couple people have asked about an EU-spec version, so I can see about doing something like that. What kinds of stuff would be needed for it? I’m guessing at least some different engine options, and metric gauges, but does it need like different bumpers or lights and stuff?
About the EU spec, would be Diesel engines, possibly spotlights or foglights, 4WD or AWD powertrain, snow tires, and tow hitches. Idk much about EU spec cars though so I probs missed some stuff, but yeah, definitely get diesel engines if you're going for an EU spec. Bumpers may or may not be changeable, I would say this comes down to personal preference, US spec cars from this period usually had larger bumpers then the JPN spec cars, and EU spec tended to have either bigger bumpers like US ones or normal sized, so whatever you would prefer would work here. You could also change the grill mesh on the EU spec as well. Also maybe with EU spec have a 100% luxury trim, diesel V6, blacked out windows, painted body trim, idk what wheels, AWD powertrain, and an auto or even sequential transmission. Another thing you could to further change difference between JPN spec and EU spec, although this would be hard and make little sense ingame, but you could change the EU spec one to crash differently compared to the JPN one, to represent the higher standards and requirements of European crash safety. Just thought of something else, would Aero parts be a possibility? Like the Aero grill on the old DPMP modded Pessima? And would a front window sunvisor/spoiler also be possible?
Painted bumpers, alloy wheels, diesel engines (2.2, 2.5, and 3.0) and everything else you mentioned. Maybe a slightly different chassis too? To (as you said) represent European crash safety. Edit: Maybe a dodgy as hell automated-manual transmission aswell?
and usually Xenon headlights, sometimes LED. --- Post updated --- you also missed my question about the off-road spec
