If you have a BeamNG.Drive YouTube channel then leave a link to it in the description! Here's a few of my videos. Sorry if the music is a bit annoying, I have better music for my upcoming montages. Here's my channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCliL-lNEpUDdLraEpgAMSPg I know that they are not that great so if you have and tips I will gladly take them into consideration! Please do not hate on me. I am looking for other BeamNG.Drive YouTubers because I want everyone to get the support and recognition they deserve. Also, I want to help fellow montage makers with their channels so that they can be the next Kryton or Insanegaz. I would also prefer if your channel was under 100 subs but still post your channel anyways even if it's more. Thank you! P.S. It doesn't JUST have to be montages. I just really like montages but I will give other BeamNGers a chance too
Hey guys, I just finished a montage that took me 5 hours. I know that it is still not the best and that improvements can be made. Let me break it down: What's Better Better FPS (I took suggestions of you guys and did 2x slomo and just sped it up in editing) Smoother camera angle transitions (way less random freezing) Better Quality My best montage yet Better music selection Overall better for viewing Better Thumbnail (No more www.flamingtext.com emblem) What Needs Improvements Better camera angles (Some of those are horrible especially the one where I was in a tree) Better Crashes (Some of the ones in there are not the most entertaining) Even better FPS on some of them (I accidentally left my video editor open for a couple) Lack of that extra little polish (in some of the clips you could see where I hit J to get a new camera angle. This resulted in a random pause that was not edited out) Some scenes were cut out because they turned out bad (resulted in confusing jump cuts) If I missed anything please let me know. I personally think this is my best montage yet but I think that there is still a lot of room for improvement. After all, no one, not even Insanegaz, Kyton, ect. are perfect. So what did you guys think? Rate from 1-10 please 1= Not worthy of rating 2= Really bad 3= Needs a ton of improvement 4= decent but not good 5= eh 6= Good but room for improvement 7= I liked it! 8= This is good stuff 9= Wow, this amazed me 10= So good I can't breathe! (no one is gonna chose this one but still) I give it 10/10 LOL JK I really give it 6/10 Needs improvements Thank You!
5.5/10 Some frame-rate issues during the 200BX scenes but that makes sense when it's reveled that the 200BX had a boxed T65 and a modded moonhawk above it. Cool but looks inspired directly from others videos [kryton for example] Obviously 30FPS but as you've stated your doing the best you can with the hardware at hand with cheap software options. So at least it's HD
This was inspired by every BeamNG youtuber out there Thanks for your honest feedback. I will look to improve my montages further
The video seems to be 4:3 with huge black bars at the sides, what is your resolution on your monitor and recording res ect? Also some of the crashes defiantly need to be more synced with the music choice, mine for example has some parts that speed up and use more fast paced crashes to keep the action synced to the video for the most part to keep it entertaining. I've only spend 4hrs on it though so I didn't have nearly enough footage to truly define these key moments as gracefully as I could. I've also added an ending that adds a dynamic and quick feel to the video. Also notice that as soon as a crash gets boring near the ending like it flipping I cut it quick to the next clip, this resulted in a short video that had a welcome length, however I lacked the footage to make the song go on for the full 3 min. [Even though I had 51 clips/48-50gbs of video] Also the first 30seconds of my video the music seems out of place or has this "Why is this here" feeling.
My recording is set to 1920x1080 I don't know why it would show up like that. It's fine for me. I will try to sync the music more. Lazy editing on my part. Sorry about that. I tried a different style of editing and it didn't work. I promise it will improve. Also, your montages are just all out better than mine.
I don't know how to check. Sorry I'm not very good with this stuff. That's why I'm doing this, to get better Would you mind showing my or giving me steps. Thank you so much - - - Updated - - - I figured it out. It's 1280 x 1024 It's the highest I can go.
I give it a 5. The black bars at the sides are just so annoying in my opinion. I don't mind the few fps drops, they're fine with me. The main reason why I gave it a 5 though was because I can't stand that music. But it's good for the equipment you have. If you manage to get those black bars fixed you'll get my award for being IMO the best New BeamNG montage maker.
I don't know how to fix them. All of my settings are at the highest in terms of resolution and recording. Do you have any tips on how to fix it? Maybe also take a screenshot and send it so I know what I need to fix Thanks!
You answered it yourself right here. 1280x1024 is a weird resolution with a 5:4 aspect ratio. It's not the standard 16:9 aspect ratio that everyone and the YouTube player uses. The issue is with your monitor itself. Not much you can do about it apart from getting a different monitor.
It's because Youtube, along with most people's monitors are 16:9, generally 1920x1080. You said your resolution was 1280x1024, which is 5:4. 5:4 =/= 16:9, infact 16:9 is significantly wider than 5:4, and that's why there are black bars at the side of the screen. You can fix this by either choosing a 16:9 resolution (1600x900, 1366x768, 1280x720) and recording or you can stretch the video in your editor.
I am switching video recorders to MSI Afterburner which can record in 16:9. I think the problem might be in the recorder as well. If it doesn't fix the problem I guess I am forced to save up for a new monitor. - - - Updated - - - But back to the real reason I made this post. You guys got any BeamNG.Drive channels? If so please link them in your next post!
