Released Improved Lamborghini Gallardo [v1.25]

    at first i didnt know what this was, i thought it was the gallardo mod but like remastered, but then i spawned in the old gallardo mod ingame and i noticed what this is, first off the sound was working and it was crisp, before the sound was silent like a tesla..... the lighting on paint and stuff is better, it handles better, and there was no missing textures, thanks for making this mod.

    - New engine start sound
    - Added two new transmissions (race manual and race sequential)
    - Very slightly improved engine sound



    I'm sorry guys but on an earlier update when I fixed the glitter paint I broke the custom skins for the vehicle since I changed the UV map. I didn't know what a UV map was when I did this and discovered that later when I learnt that it was tied to the texturing.
    Because of this, the Bicolore, Tricolore, Valentino Balboni and Polizia skins are broken.
    I tried for a whole afternoon to recreate the UV map of the car but I don't have the knowledge to do so and didn't manage to do it. Therefor I don't know when this issue will be fixed, if anyone know how to make a UV map for a vehicle and could explain to me it would be insanely helpful, I could then recreate the skin myself on a new UV map.

    how do you get the original gallardo? cuz the twin turbo wing doesnt show up and the textures for the speed and fuel guage dont load all the way. 2 spots missing. and the textures to the windows still dont load when they break.

    Please follow the steps in the first part of my post (deleting gallardo folders)
    And don't install any other version of the gallardo, you should only have mine

    i had another gallardo mod and it fixed the paint, but after i deleted it the textures went away. and where do you find the gallardo folders to delete them? cuz i looked everywhere in my folder application, in docs, downloads, everywhere, and i cant find the folders.

    still cant find them even if i start the game then run the mod and then close the game then look in my folders like, i looked in documents, looked in applications, searched the folders, and still nothing shows up.

    It's located in the folder which contains your mods folder, the one where you dropped the .zip
    Inside the folder above you should find a folder called "temp" and one called "vehicles" and inside both of them a "gallardo" folder, it's the one you want to delete

    As far as reworks go, this take on the Gallardo mod isn't too shabby to say the least, given that Tsutarja495 said that he didn't mind assuming you provided credits to him for making the original mod (in which you did). I'm not exactly a huge fan of widebody kits on supercars, but the JBeam work is at least a step up. That being said, there are still some issues that could be addressed.

    For instance, the Superleggera spoiler's JBeam structure wobbles at high speed, making it appear as if it was unstable and could break off from the vehicle. The rear bumper's structure deforms somewhat if you brake hard to a complete stop from a high speed. Those issues were detected on the latest version of the reworked mod, and I believe those minor structure instabilities can be fixed.

    The digital display that provides the speed readings is obviously broken in 0.23. The Lua it used was changed in that update, and as a result, it fails to display the speed. That is probably why you commented out anything pertaining to the digital display with double slashes, including the gear indicators. Fixing it is simple by obtaining an older copy of the etkGauges.lua file from the 0.22 game update, then renaming it to gallardoGauges.lua and then moving it to lua\controller in the mod's .zip file. Don't forget to uncomment out the digital display bits after doing so.

    Regarding the UV mappings that led to the skins being broken, there is actually a way to revert to the ones that originally came with the mod. Just use the model from an older build with the UV mappings intact. This, however, means that you'll have to reapply any other changes made to the mod such as additional parts in subsequent updates, and obviously the glitter paint won't be compatible with said mappings. But at least you have an option to correct this problem.

    On another note, you mentioned how the brake lights are also the turn signals on the Gallardo. That is actually correct, at least for US-spec models. In the United States, federal regulations allow for both amber and red turn signals at the back of the vehicle (note that the former isn't made mandatory); much of the rest of the world mandate amber signals on both the front and rear. Many vehicles bound for the US market have red turn signals (likely to save on production costs), several of which have brake lights that also double as turn signals. What you could do instead is add another set of taillights with amber turn signals. I've linked two videos on YouTube below: one revealing the European-spec model's rear amber signals, and another featuring red turn signals from a US-spec model.


    The mod is far from perfect, but the changes that were made up to this point were not too bad for the most part. Hopefully my provided feedback helps you in some way.

    Hey! Thank you very much for your post with all the issues, I took note of all of that. Improvements to the JBeam might be my next update for it (I'm quite busy these days though so I don't know when)
    As for the UV I made way too many changes to the 3D model sadly so I need to recreate it somehow. I guess I will find a solution at some point.
    I will try to fix the digital speedometer using your idea as soon as I can, thanks for this!

    just a question, do i need the other lambo mod? since i am having some texture issues, and i deleted the gallardo in my temp folder, and cleared cache.

    Nope you should only have my mod and nothing else Gallardo related
    The Gallardo folder should also be deleted in the "vehicles" folder (it's in the same location where your temp folder is)

    If you have no gallardo folders in vehicles/ and in temp/ then try clearing your cache and make sure you have no other version of my mod or older gallardo mod

    I found a small mistake, and indeed the tank display goes in the wrong direction when the tank is empty
