I have a new T598 wheel, one of those direct drive models that's ultra smooth and feels really good, except the problem is, BeamNG oscillates the wheel when I let go of it on a fast straight, despite having increased the damper and friction in the wheel's firmware. I noticed American & Euro Truck Sims have a FFB setting called "internal friction" that completely eliminates the problem! BeamNG should have something like that too. The wheel itself can dampen the oscillations only so much. I did try changing the in-game smoothing but that didn't help.
