In this thread you can find all the props I will be making. All downloads are at the end of this post. Feel free to suggest. (imported from here) ======= Credits: -Nadeox1 (3D model, Jbeam editing) -DrowsySam(Jbeam editing) ======= Description: It's a simple Wooden Crate. You may have seen it in the recent Blog Posts. Weights ~40KG Easy to transport Customizable Decals Cloth for sweg Zip name is "NDX_WOODENCRATE.ZIP" Ingame pictures: (imported from here) ======= Credits: Juju - Base cube Jbeam Nadeox1 - 3D Model, Tweaking and Fixing of Jbeam ======= Description: A simple package of 3 variant of CardBoard Boxes (selectable from the parts menu). A: 1x2x1 meters B: 1x1x2 meters C: 1x1x1 meters Ingame pictures: SideNote: Boxes may have some trouble colliding with eachother, I couldn't fix it. It work fine with vehicle collision, unless you try to load them on the pickup bed or van box. -Little minor update: Removed AO from the texture. (imported from here) ======= Credits: -Gabester (Base Jbeam) -Nadeox1 (3D Models, Jbeam Adaptation) ======= Ingame pictures: ======= Traffic cone, slightly bigger than the one that comes with BeamNG, still based on real sizes. Zip name is "TRAFFICCONE" (imported from here) ======= Credits: -Gabester (Base Jbeam, Rim model & Texture) -Nadeox1 (Tire model, Jbeam editing and creation of single tires entities) ======= Description: It may look the same as the default tire stack that comes with BeamNG, but this one is destructible. Crash on it with your car and you will see the tires flying away! The stack is made out of 4 tires. NOTE- The name in the vehicle list is "DESTRUCTIBLE TIRE STACK" Ingame pictures: (imported from here) ======= Credits: -Gabester (Base Jbeam) -Nadeox1 (3D model, Jbeam editing) ======= Description: As requested, a barrel traffic cone. Zip name is "TRAFFICCONEB.ZIP" Ingame pictures: Minor update - reduced polycount (imported from here) ======= Credits: -Gabester (Base Jbeam) -Nadeox1 (3D model, Jbeam editing) ======= Description: A Metal Barrier Fence thingy. It's pretty light. Zip name is "FENCEBARRIER.ZIP" Ingame pictures: Terms of use: •DON'T reupload the zip or any parts of the folders.
Re: CardBoard Boxes - Made out of Virtually recycled paper! Looks good Do the box lids pop open? And just wondering how they deform, do they dent in like tin or act like cardboard in a way?
Re: CardBoard Boxes - Made out of Virtually recycled paper! It's everything I've always wanted from a cardboard box. (imported from here) (imported from here) Thank you
Re: CardBoard Boxes - Made out of Virtually recycled paper! I didn't made them deformable for 2 reasons: -I'd need at least 4 more nodes, and If you want to use more boxes FPS would be bad. (also why there aren't lids). -Deformation with 4 nodes is kinda horrid, and at the first hit the box would have been destroyed..soo.
Re: CardBoard Boxes - Made out of Virtually recycled paper! The AO is, umm, terrible. Did you place a plane under it while baking? Take that off, let the game do it's SSAO so it won't look bad when you tip over the box.
Re: CardBoard Boxes - Made out of Virtually recycled paper! Looks more like a smoothing group issue to me..
Re: CardBoard Boxes - Made out of Virtually recycled paper! It's not a smoothing issue, it's a distant plane I placed to give a bit of AO, but it looks like the bottom was burned or something like that. I reuploaded it without any AO in the texture. Same DL.
Re: CardBoard Boxes - Made out of Virtually recycled paper! It's not, you can see the bad AO in the texture. But on the topic of the geometry, it seems the chamfer on the edges is kinda redundant, since there is already a normal map which could give it rounder edges. It's not like a cardboard box has round edges anyway.
Re: CardBoard Boxes - Made out of Virtually recycled paper! Depends, I got a bunch of boxes infront of me, and they got slightly rounded edges (except the top, due lids). I think it depends on the way the box was built.
Re: CardBoard Boxes - Made out of Virtually recycled paper! This looks pretty cool I love the little "Fragile" label on it, reminds me of the Portal Companion Cube. Quick question, though: do you think you'd be able to make a separate version with the deformable box/opening lids?
Re: CardBoard Boxes - Made out of Virtually recycled paper! First thing I think of when I see any cardboard box... Metal Gear Solid
Re: CardBoard Boxes - Made out of Virtually recycled paper! That's not entirely the point I was trying to get across. You are using geometry to add a subtle effect that can be done with less performance cost with normals. Sure, its only a few polygons with this simple object, but when you start chamfering other more complex stuff it can add up. Doing it nicely with normals will be a learning experience. IMAGE CREDIT: VASILIS That's just a cube with properly done normals. On a side note, the removal of the silly AO mistake has made the texture look much better.
Re: CardBoard Boxes - Made out of Virtually recycled paper! Haha, little boxes. Wow, who would think someone would add boxes to BNG. Now we need to make a UPS shipping truck (gone wild) video.
Re: Traffic Cone - The bigger, the better. I like how you're making more props for the game, I'd love to see more.
Re: Traffic Cone - The bigger, the better. Feel free to suggest some props. I was thinking about Tire stacks. Uh, maybe I should make a single thread for all the props I'm making instead of having separate ones?
Re: Traffic Cone - The bigger, the better. Tire stacks would be awesome, that'd be the one I want the most. Just make sure they're stackable and they can collide with each other. And yeah a prop thread would be good, that way people can find all your stuff in one place EDIT: Just noticed you did that.
Well, I gave it a start. I took the FCV tires I modelled and UV mapped them with gabe's texture. I took the tirestack gabe made and overhauled it. Gabe's tirestack can't be destroyed, while in this one each tire is a separated entity which can go its own way when you hit the stack. EDIT- You can see it in action here http://www.beamng.com/threads/1575-...tributing-post-)?p=49922&viewfull=1#post49922
Re: Props Collection All that comes to mind is stupid stuff, things I would fill the back of the truck with just to go off a jump to watch them fly out, or crash into a van filled with them. -soda/beer cans -pizza boxes -milk jugs -egg cartons -beer kegs -ketchup bottles -hotdogs -burgers -dolls/action figures -books -skateboard -bicycle -car seats And to hold them? How about a shopping cart, and a shopping basket. The cart doesn't have to roll. Mostly retarded suggestions, but yeah, I just want to fill the bed of the truck with crap and watch it bounce around. (If that's even possible with collision not being too sensitive)
Re: Props Collection Then we would have to make a super market. Wow, those items to crash, wow. Nice ideals.
