After this latest update, every single time I open the game, I get this error box:

    BeamNG.drive cant access UserPath =
    D:/Users/Joshua/Documents/BeamNG.drive/ defined in
startup.ini (game folder). Change for a valid path.

It shows forward slashes instead of back slashes, but as you can see in my startup.ini that I uploaded, I have it entered correctly. That is the correct location of my documents directory, and where the BeamNG.drive folder was located, before I deleted it. I also uninstalled and redownloaded the game, and got the same error.

I also am not able to select full resolution, and if I make any changes to game settings, they are not saved.

Everything was working properly before this update.

I get the same thing. I got the Steam version of this game about 3 days ago and when I launch the game that error comes up. I also cannot install any mods because the folder it is referring to is non existent. I looked worked on the problem for a couple hours and still not a thing. If anyone can help please do so!

No ideas? Even vanilla settings don't work for me.

I would really like to play the game, my 3 year old loves it.

Guys i figured it out,i fixed my problem by giving the entire drive write permissions, follow these steps if yo are having this problem in windows 10 i do not know if also for other versions of windows, just figure i help my fellow members.

Depending on your HDD size and how full it is this process will take longer,i have a half of terabyte and it took like 40 minutes, but it was well worth it cause everything works flawlessly now.

    1. On your main HDD (C:\) or whatever your letter is obviously C is the common, right click, select properties, select security tab.
    2. Click Advanced
    3. The window that pops up should show the current owner. Click "Change." The "Select User or Group" pop up box appears.
    4. In the text box, type in your current user name (you should be an admin), and hit the "Check Names" button. Your name will be replaced with the "official" system name (i.e.,preceded by computer name and back slash).
    5. Click OK
    6. The box disappears, sending you back to the Advanced Security Settings window.
    7. A new tick box appears below owner, with the text "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects" Select this tick box.
    8. I also selected the tick box "Replace all child object permission entries with inheritable permission entries from this object".
    9. Make sure that "everyone" appears on the Permission entries window, if not, click add. The same box that appears in step 4 shows up again. Type everyone, click "Check Names" and then "OK"
    10. Hit apply

that's it,now your mods and everything should show up like it did me and you will be able to save you car modifications and all that, this also fixed my Rigs Of Rods locking up on loading certain terrains issue.

Thanks to: Microsoft forums for this fix.

    good luck everyone and enjoy.

Hmm... I am hoping for a different solution. My data "drive" where programs are installed is actually four 2 TB drives in Raid 1+0.

    That could take a while.

Are there any possible bad side effects of doing this? I am guessing windows set it up this way for a certain reason...
