Going to scan my Ford Escort ZX2, I can export the scan to .obj

    This maybe fun!

Do you plan on making a mod out of the scan?

I would plan to share it for open usage or make a mod myself of course if no one uses the models or tries and refines them! I also mainly wanted to share the possibility of this idea to others that may have gotten the iPhone 12 Pro, to encourage them to make their own models with the LiDAR sensor!

It is a cool idea, I have a lidar but its not on my phone haha. I'm not too good with working with point clouds but I'm sure someone out there is. so maybe someone will do this eventually.

just did a test scan, this was done in a single pass, with zero lighting. I removed tons of unrelated vertices!

I will try tomorrow with better lighting and also maybe an area that is pretty "object" neutral!

You might wanna put chalk or something to make the car nonreflective... idk what you would use to do that without damaging the paint...

i completely forgot about reflective stuff not being so fair to lidars, but he's right. you need to make it not as reflective.
