Considering the tech was first publicised in 2012, I doubt what you have is a tech demo if its dated 2020. V0.1 (iirc) was briefly shared online a couple years ago, but has long since gone again. In any case, I'm not sure anyone really benefits from an old, outdated version of the game
The only techdemos available so far are the Techdemo V1 which released one day before release (August 3rd 2013) and was based on 0.3. And the second one, Techdemo V2 was released around 2015 and was based on a 0.3.7.- version. No more techdemos were released after that. Show us how the menu looks like and we'll know if this is an old one that was last modified in 2020 or if you were scammed.
Weirdly on steamdb there is a “demo” last updated on may 21 2024, dont know what it actually is though. https://steamdb.info/app/316760/ Clicking a link on the page gives 4 different demo lists but they have all not been updated in years.
Yet these headers are from 2014. I don't really know, maybe it's updated with main updates with no changes. And I don't think devs can reply about this because it isn't supposed to be public.
