I know it's version .13 but, if you download the game off of steam, you can make the game version 0.4.0.6. There are some outdated and taken down mods like the Honda CRX Del Sol SiR that weren't outdated in that time period, so, if I was able to get the download on those, would it be able to be used in version 0.4.0.6?
I have no idea but i know @Dayz Me Rollin' has a fixed version of the del sol not sure if he wants to give it out yet though :/
If you get mods that were made for that version they'll work. If you get mods that were made for newer versions, there's a high chance they'll not work or break your game.
How do I get mods imported to that version? Do I have to put the files from the .zip in the vehicles folder so the car will show up in the vehicle selector?
I don't remember if that version had proper support for mods. Try to install them as you do now (put the ZIP in Documents/BeamNG.drive/mods). If it doesn't work that way, you need to install in the game's directory.
Last night, I tried the .zip to mods folder. If I keep the mods activated, the game won't work. I have the codename: oldsfullsize mod, and some of the cars that come with the mod, are in the vehicle selector. Should I try copy and pasting the vehicles folder to get the mod into the vehicle selector?
The Del Sol works ok in 0.13 if repacked properly. Needs some fixes and improvements (no thermals, no fuel tank) but runs.
I know, I have it. I want to try to drive it on a more compatible version. It's definitely compatible.
A lot of sketchy third party sites still host mods like that, if you do get it from one of those sites do not run any .exe files, search for a different version. If possible try to find a .zip file that doesn't contain one of those autoinstaller executables. Then scan your PC and that file for any viruses / malware.
