Hello, I'm amazed by this RAMDisk thing, and would like to know if I could put the ''mods'' folder in other drive. If yes, do you think loading mods would get any faster? Thanks in advance!
yeah, sure, it's possible https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/16226/complete-guide-to-symbolic-links-symlinks-on-windows-or-linux/ however, unless you're running 5200rpm drives from 2005, I very much doubt you will notice any significant difference between a modern hard drive, an SSD, or a ramdisk. 99% of the time disk speed is not a bottleneck past typical SSD speeds, ramdisk is mostly a meme
There's a file in the main game directory called "startup.ini" or something like that. In it, you can change the Documents/BeamNG directory. No way to just do mods, but if you do what I did and put both directories on an SSD, maps load much, much quicker.
^ This is the recommended way to do that. Maybe also easier to do than the one above (?), since it's just editing a text-file
