Is it possible to set the speed of a car?

    Hey guys,

I am planning on making some crash videos and I don't have a racing wheel to guide the car so that it collides perfectly with the other one. I know how to go into the editor and move 2 cars so that they are lined up for a perfect collision. The only problem is that I have to use my arrow keys to get the vehicle up to speed and to guide it to the other vehicle. Generally speaking, it isn't possible for me to get a perfect collision because I have to use arrow keys.

My question: is there a way to manually go into the editor and set the speed of the player's car while physics are paused? This would be useful because I would be able to line up the cars close together, set the speed of one of them (whether it is the player's car or the one spawned) to something fast, and then get a perfect collision to record with my recording software.

    Is this possible?

Why don't you just set an AI car to chase and collide into the car you're controlling? Ctrl+T is the shortcut to the AI menu.

Thanks for your help, I will certainly give it a shot.

More specifically, I am looking to be able to send 2 cars at the same speed right towards each other. I will be making some crash test videos on user-created vehicles.

I was able to code some rudimentary AI that would cap its own speed whilst driving (more or less) straight. I don't have it anymore, but it wasn't that hard to build or set up.

    For what it's worth...

I have found that the AI controlled method of chasing the player is great for all types of collisions as far as crash testing a vehicle goes. All I have been doing is placing the player's car as the one that will be hit, so I don't have to worry about guiding the vehicle perfectly to the target. The AI controlled vehicle must simply be placed far enough away so that it can gain speed and then hit the player's vehicle. Thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction!
