An update ago I've noticed a Push front bumper in the parts menu so I've thought that It's kind of useless but after this update I've found out that every (I think) vehicle has a node attacher on the front that looks like a great place for attaching winch/tow hook. So here is a question for dev's: Are couplers on the front of the vehicles a bug or is it intentional and could you tell us what's the purpose of them? (P.S. sorry for my bad-ish english) --- Post updated --- + the Push bumper seems a bit unfinished (after it gets damaged it sticks to every car it touches)
There is a mod on the forum that adds a very well made one.. Just look around the land section from vehicles Edit found it http://www.beamng.com/threads/djplopper-d-series-tow-truck.24519/#post-358252
I know about it and I've even used it but It isn't looking so well, I'm hoping for official version with proper wrecker on the back
I've noticed, that if you go in to the controls for the vehicles and click additional bindings, there are controls for an extendable boom as well as a hook! So I'm guessing in a future update there will be.
You may also notice that a lot of (all that I have looked at) in-game vehicles have a special (useless) "tow_hook" location at the front, when you activate its hitches. They also are attributed with a "ropables" definition. I'd say future in-game tow truck will be coming.... some day. I think the current 'tow truck mod' just uses glitchy collision triangles to stick the hook to the vehicle, with no way to unhook. I haven't used it in a while so I don't know if this is still true...
Looked it up and yes your claim is sorta true. Direct quote from the mod page: "The Tow Truck D-Series is back! This mod contains a reworked version of the DS Tow Truck by DrowsySam, I added some configs, removed outdated parts and fixed some errors"
Yup, This is just what we need (with the wrecker bed the heavy duty parts would start making at least a little bit of sense)
