Is there a way to disable the auto-rotating camera?

This has frustrated me for the past year and I am fed up with it. Whenever I reverse, the camera does a 180 and fights me whenever I try to correct it and messes up whatever I'm doing. I've always had the latest version of the game and I set the "follow vehicle direction" to the highest relaxation setting, but it still does it all the time. Is there any way to disable this so the camera just stays put for once?

As soon you move the camera, the auto-rotation is disabled.
Also, imagine the camera being connected to the car with a rope, and the camera always facing the vehicle.
If you reverse, the camera will look back.

Also, if you set the relaxation to maximum, this will be more strict also in reverse.

Use relative camera and move the camera all the way to the back of the vehicle
