is there a way to get the map editor to run better to make maps?

i tried using the map editor and whenever im trying to put a object or make a ai path it just lags out and freezes and drops my frames to like 1fps is there a way to fix that so i wont be having issues to make this work out because i have a descent computer that runs the largest map on this forum just fine but the map editor is taking the cake off my frames.

is there a possibility is it my ram or anything that causes the map editor to not be able to handle it

it is really frustrating trying to make a map to put on this site and happen to deal with using concentration more than i have to.

is there a solution to this issue to help me get this working to join the modding community
