I plan to upgrade my CPU and Motherboard from an A10-6700 on a FM2+ Asus A55BM-A. I was thinking of going for an FX-6300. Any suggestions would be nice.
I wouldnt call a 3 core an "Upgrade" update let figures talk it´s not worth it. Depending on budget i´d get at least a 8350
Upgrade definition: "To replace something with something better or more useful, downgrade is also a term."
Would the FX-6300 be Good? There’s one on new egg unlocked at 3.5ghz for $80. Or should I go with a higher clocked quad core for $82?
New egg: $120 8 core at 4.0ghz. Won’t it have weak single core performance? 4/8= .5 ghz? EDIT: I have a Hyper Evo so I might be able to overclock based on the board I get.
If you're on about an 8 core FX chip, then they all have weak single core performance. Really, nowadays the only viable FX CPU is the top of the line ones, and that's only if you can get them cheap
Well the 8350 is basically a quad core. So performance might not even be that much better. I´d really save up some cash and buy some intel stuff or Ryzen
Ok, which Ryzen would you recommend? I would like to use it for BeamNG, and the only reason I worry about single core performance is because a game called Besiege (if I am correct) only uses 1 core.
I don't know alot about Ryzen, but quickly using Google to compare the cheapest Ryzen 3 CPU with my FX6350, the Ryzen is much better at not only SC performance, but basically everything else too.
Cool will research. --- Post updated --- It doesn’t seem like a 6 core Ryzen 3 exists. But the Ryzen 3 1200 Quadcore stomps the 6350 at single core performance. $200 for 6 core Ryzen 5 at 3.2 ghz
Lol this is going to be a little more then a cpu and motherboard upgrade. I also have to upgrade the ram. Being a total of $345 Ryzen 5 1600, DDR4 8GB 2133mhz ram, MSI B350M PRO-VH PLUS AM4 AMD B350 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard.
Lol my biggest upgrade (not including moving up from family computer) was from AMD intergrated graphics to XFX R7 370 bestbuy exclusive.
Get a Intel i9 7900X? https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/processors/core/x-series/i9-7900x.html
Ryzen, so when Zen 2 architecture is released your motherboard will support it. AMD said that they will support AM4 motherboards for 4-5 years. Future proofing your gaming rig. Unlike intel that give your motherboard a life of 1 or 2 generations.
Don't waste time buying FX cpu anything, they're rubbish. I had mine for 3 weeks and wanted to throw it out the window - over 3+ years ago, I hated it. Worst slow POS ever. So 3 weeks after buying that rubbish FX 6300 *cue sad woeful tones* , which has been since relegated to a dust collector, i bought an i7 4790k *cue happy music*, and I could then run 2d and 3d games nicely at high FPS, including this one. So yes, buy i5 or i7 4xxx intel chips or higher (there's not much difference between 4xxx and newer, aside of 8xxx having more cores, and honestly the i3 8350k is a great value almost being as quick as this 4790k). Or, if on budget, buy RYZEN 1200 or 1600 CPU or better! You will need: 8~16gb DDR4 memory (for Ryzen, or intel 6xxx and newer - 8gb is weak, 16gb is good and sufficient) Processor of choice Motherboard of choice After-market cooler is optional. You may be able to order an AM4 bracket for your cooler if it doesn't work as-is. If you have OEM Windows (regardless if it's Windows 10, or your old version, if you did not buy Retail Windows, you have OEM), you will need to purchase a new copy of Windows 10. OEM Windows 10 will not work when you change the motherboard. So do budget for that. Example: If you had OEM version Windows 7 or Windows 8, and you upgraded to Windows 10, you have OEM Windows 10 that is licensed to the motherboard in that computer. Replace the board = replace Windows. If you bought retail Windows 7 or 8 at a place like Sprawl-Mart or Worst-Buy, and you upgraded to Windows 10, you will be able to keep your license but you'll have to first install Windows 7 or 8 on the new PC, activate it (important!!!) and then install the upgrade to Windows 10 again.
Well rip anyways. My father said that my pc works fine as is... And $300 for 2 games running better costs too much. If I want to upgrade cpu, I have to stay on fm2+ board. Athlon X4 880K Looks like a good choice (not that I would get it) it is better then my A10-6700 and is unlocked.
boi My dad says my PC Is fine and it's top of the line, and i got a GT 740, Intel Core I3 2120 @3.3GHz and 6GB RAM Depressing
