I think it would be really cool to add an actual jake brake system to the t series trucks....it will also add the the level of realism
It is a valve that blocks exhaust. As exhaust gases can't escape pressure builds up and creating that pressure takes power from the engine. So when engine braking wheels are turning the engine instead of fuel and as more restriction is added by preventing exhaust gases exiting freely, engine braking is increased. As a side product that higher pressure will make more exhaust sound. To make this happen in game, probably dynamic friction would need to be increased a lot, because my understanding is that effect is stronger at higher rpm. Also exhaust sample volume might need to be increased, but possible it might be need to be swapped to other sample too. When you forget jakebrake on and accelerate, things are not going to end up well.
Ah, my childhood was filled with too many sounds of jake brakes... THUNKATHUNKATHUNKATHUNKATHUNKATHUNKATHUNKApop
