Finally after about a months on/off work I'm finally releasing my obstacle course style map. Please ignore the plummet at the beginning I've tried and tried to fix it but with no luck. The course is a point A to point B style obstacle course made specifically for crawlers and extreme off-road vehicles. There are several levels each with increasing difficulty while climbing the mountain. The course isn't that long and should take about ten to fifteen minutes to complete. There are multiple "save points" marked out by bright green grass that allows you to pull off the track and save your vehicles location. Trust me it is very annoying to roll over and have to start all over because you didn't save before an obstacle. Here are some screen shots. Also Ignore the crawler_park name I had named it long before and when I attempted to change it I could not load my map anymore so I just left it. Please give any feedback and suggestions for the next project. Thank you so much. Credits go to anyone who made the original textures and funador for his tutorial couldn't have done it without him.
Exactly what i was looking for in the last two days! Thanks. Was about to stop playing but now... i have to test this!
The map looked nice so I downloaded it. There was an error on loading the map. I spawned in the map, and there was nothing but floating trees that seemed to cover an invisible mountain. It seems that terrain file or whatever isn't loading from what I know about maps... Is anyone else getting this error? (The error message) (What it looked like at the spawnpoint)
try moving the "crawler_park_0.ter and the crawler_park_0_basetex.dds" out of the main crawler_park folder and put into the levels folder on thier own. don't know why but it fixed things on my end.
Thanks Chaney, it worked, but there is a certain texture in the map that apparently isn't there so there are orange-red patches all over the map. It appears to be the same problem that Dirt-Jam had for a bit. I'm not sure if that's normal, or occurs because I moved the two files. On the other hand, the pictures of the map really show how good the map actually is. It's a very nice map, besides the fact it's very difficult. I used Sam's DSC Scarab, and Buggy, the Scarab made it past the first set of obstacles quite easily, then never made it past the water part. Tried the Buggy; which drowned instantly... I gave up, and looked at the rest of the map in free-camera. The rest of the course looked extremely hard to impossible-looking. What vehicle is supposed to complete this course anyway? Also I really like the idea with the bright grass marked checkpoints for some reason. Hope you find a fix for the textures. (The textureless spots)
hmmm... I'll try a fix for the textures I'm still very new to this but gotta start somewhere right? As for which vehicle to use I use the john cambell moonbuggy and I promise it is possible to complete. Also I have made it to the top with the scarab only it was very difficult. - - - Updated - - - pickle330, first thank you for showing me the problems. after scowering the forums I read a tutorial that showed me how to fix, basically the material.cs file didn't have the right coding and after a quick fix it was taken care of. Also as you were saying with the water section I had forgotten about that part and changed the ground so now it should be able to drive right through. Did you go straight after the first check point? The trail climbs the little hill and goes around the "pond", however you have your choice. anyways, this should be a patch fix everything (hopefully) and good luck completing the course. Just copy over the original folder and test.
