    The Beetle went out of production in 2003, the R4 in 1994, the 2cv went out of production in 1990, and the Lada however, went out of production in 2012.
    And, the Lada Niva has the same engine and isn't safer at all.

    We're discussing european production/sales.

    The Riva was withdrawn from most western european markets in 1995. It wouldn't pass stricter european homologation tests, or Lada wouldn't have discontinued it.

    The Niva soldiered on for a little while longer thanks to...
    ... parallel imports, for which special (limited) homologation practices apply.

    Честно я очень сильно жду 2105(Пятка) и 2121(Нива)
    я сам русский и обожаю русские автомобили и их тюнинг. А когда вышел этот мод, я вообще был настолько рад.
    Жду обнову :)
