I started to use sketchup to make some simple things. One of them is this garage. It is meant to hold around 5 cars and it is pretty big. Any suggestions would be great! Here is the garage:
You could add like some garage things ex: tools, air compressors, tables, vehicle lifts and what not, be pretty sweet, Looking good man!
Looks pretty nice! In case you haven't seen it yet, DrowsySam made an awesome tutorial for getting Sketchup models into the game. Great work though. http://www.beamng.com/threads/5071-...G-with-working-collision-textures-(for-noobs)
I already have looked at his video, but every time I put it in-game, the textures flicker like a light, and there are no collisions. I have checked the faces and they are all good.
That garage looks great. Have you tried setting Collision type to Visible Mesh? that should fix the collision problem.
Yeah that worked! But the collisions are all whack... like all you do is touch it and the car gets sucked into the wall. So I might need help on the collision part. I will be adding everything but the vehicle lifts. I am actually making this for a map I am working on and this garage is going to be just a simple backyard garage. Here is an updated picture for interior progress. nice big workbench, car jack, some stuff on the wall, and even a lounge area where guys can be guys! Also, since this is my first attempt at a 3D model, not every accessory is going to be made by me. I am going to be using some models from the 3D Warehouse to help finish this up. All credit will be given to the original creators.
Sounds like your normal's are facing the wrong way, you can fix this in Blender by turning on normal's visibility and making sure all your faces have normal's pointing the correct direction. I had a similar problem awhile back, check out this thread and scroll about halfway down. VideoTutorial-Exporting-static-objects-with-collision
