License plates cause extreme lag and crashes

So this started after the last update of the game, I didn’t change any settings or change anything on my computer

when the game first loads up everything is fine, then when I go to load another car the plate seems to freeze for a few seconds then load and then lag 5 separate times, if I have a few cars spawned and AI driving around the hang time for the plates to load can lag up to 30-45 seconds and then it freezes the game

It freezes so bad now to the point it has crashed my computer

it’s made the game completely unable to enjoy

I have a decent computer and run anywhere from 80-110 fps normally.
I don’t know how to fix this

I have disabled all mode, cleared the cache even a deep clean multiple times
Ran in safe mode etc.
I’m at a loss and I cannot play the game anymore.

Could you perhaps provide the logs? Or at least a screenshot from the console when this happens (press ' on keyboard)

I had another issue which I think might be related to the license plates, too.
I enabled "Skip License Plate Generation" in the Graphics Menu.
Think it might help in your case, too.

Yes I could do that but it then doesn’t fix the issue and then I don’t have plates…

After deleting the whole game and reinstalling it, works how it should now, even with all the mods and settings set the same way as the last download, I’m at a loss but at least it’s fixed

 

I’m seriously ready to just stop playing the game, I have tried 1000 times to fix this issue and nothing and no one else has the issue apparently.

even uninstalling the whole game and playing on VANILLA it still does it. Unplayable bs.

 

If it happened in safe mode, then it's probably something wrong with the computer / settings.

 

And what would that be because I haven’t changed anything.

 

I'm not sure, but have you tried running the game in an older version?

 

No Idek how to do that. It worked in this version then all of a sudden stopped.

 

1. Open steam
2. Right click on BeamNG.
3. Click on "Properties"
4. Click on "Betas"
5. Click on the "Beta Participation" drop-down menu
6. I would recommend the "0.14.0.5-dx10" option.
7. Wait for it to install and launch the game. (Launching an older version of the game will not delete your files from the main version.)

 

Bro and what did that do other than set me back like 2 years? Yeah it works on there but that has nothing to do with the current game so…?

 

That means there's an issue with the current version. You could try verifying the game files via the "Verify Integrity" tool in the BeamNG launcher. If that doesn't work, you can delete the 0.31 folder and then verify integrity. Or relaunch. I'm not sure if relaunching will re-write the folder. (If you are going to delete the 0.31 folder, make sure you copy and paste your configs to another folder not related to BeamNG, and do the same for everything else you want to save.

 

Brotha I deleted the whole game and even tried going thru every single Beam file on the computer still nothing works. I think I’ve deleted and reinstalled the game at least 20 times now. Deleted all folders files, changed paths everything nothing works

 

Have you tried bringing up the performance graph window (Ctrl+ Shift + F), and looking for bottlenecks? It might show what component of your PC (or game) is causing the lag/freezing when the plates are loading in. (Components like CPU, GPU, GameEngine, etc., will flash white and/or red if they are the component that is reducing your FPS)

 

I’ll try that tmrw when I’m home from work, I stay at a solid 70-75 fps with 3 ai cars spawned and 5 player cars spawned,
I’ve noticed it also doesn’t load beam Navi or any digital dashes in cars while the plates are trying to load as well. So idk.

 

Bump doesn’t do anything

 

Have you tried reinstalling your graphics driver?
