I think it would be nice to have versions of existing cars with less poly (Less detail in the interior...), beam, node.
For use them as A.I cars and improve the performances when we use a lots of cars for racing, derby and other.

It would be a waste of time and would kill realism. Cars behave like they are now because their Jbeam and Meshes are in almost perfect proportion. If there would be a version of the "insercarname" simplified, it probably won't behave anything like it's "complete" counter-part.

You have a point, Try experimenting by removing unnecessary parts w/ the part selector.

I thought that i heard WhyBeAre saying in one of his videos that "the car becomes faster when it has no engine"
    Try that.

Before I upgraded CPU I would remove a lot of parts from AI vehicles to get higher framerates.

There's probably some optimization to be done to get multiplayer working properly on this game with no loss of framerate. Who knows what the devs will come up with to make even just single player races with lets say 15 AIs preform better than they would now.

AFAIK there will never be online multiplayer. It will only be local

I could get simplifying the interior (or have a LOD that only swaps in when you get close enough), but that would be about it. The .jbeam can't really change.

I actually recall the subject of 'lightened' AI cars coming up before, and one of the devs saying that they were thinking about doing just that for the final game. This was, however, at least a year ago, and plans may have changed since. This assuming that the devs' thought was anything more than just that to begin with.

We all have our dreams, and so do the devs, but most of the people deeply invested in this project are realists. Someday, multiplayer will be feasible. However, that's at least four years away optimistically. The devs have optimized about as much as they can without seriously affecting the simulation's accuracy.

Currently there is no way to make an online multiplayer work very well with current technologies. Though, it could certainly be possible in the long term future as technology progresses and new technologies emerge. Local multiplayer seems to be the only option currently.
