Since there are many mods now which have multiple lightbar pattern options, I presume it's better to have a ui app that controls the lightbar specifically to those vehicles that have it equipped. For eg, for gta 5 you have kids like the ELS stuff so that you can control the sirens and lights individually,.. I guess a similar mod can be made for beam to control the different light patterns, instead of using the keyboard controls which sometimes can be a bit iffy with a lot of mods which interfere with it... I'm not good at .lua nor do I know how to do anything else mod related in beam tbh... If anyone has any ideas, feel free to give your opinions.
A mod like that would have to overwrite the in-game light bar controller, common input actions and every user's key bindings for all official cars and mods that use light bars. So that is not a good idea to make something like that. It's definitely possible but it would break a lot of stuff, that's why custom key bindings only exists for light bars with custom controllers per vehicle. An UI app would cause even bigger mess. It would be better to have it implemented in the game itself instead of making it a mod.
Hmm, never thought of that. Wow that would be a BIG mess...... It's almost always better if implemented in the base game first as you said..
