So yea, my net is rather crappy and i'm always happy when a developer adds a download speed limiter in their updater/download stuffies. Reason is my net dies completely and is unusable when a regular download is downloading. Like a map with 200MB of size. Blocks my net for good 5 minutes where i can't do internet stuffies. So i would really welcome an option to limit the download speed to 150/400/800/1200/4000 kBit per second for example. (I'd need 400 XD) Thanks
The guy has a bad internet connection. Lets say if he has a 5Mbit connection, then when downloading a map here on the forum it will use all the bandwidth, so if he could limit the download speed then he can do other things on the internet. Thats true to an extent, because of QoS,
I understand I have an 80Mbit connection myself that does itself good although I have hit 414GB downloads in a month! so yeah....
Granted you guys aren't delivering 30GB of files but i would die if i would have to download Star Citizen or Tera or World of Warcraft without limiter. My net is literally unusable when downloading large files. If one releases now a 1GB map for BeamNG i would need to wait for my net to come back for over 30 minutes :l
Limiting your download rate is your own concern, and plenty of download managers exist to support it.
As far as i know Download Managers won't work when BeamNG.drive is started and downloads the files by itself.
Download chrome if you don't use it and try this~ https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/sabdrop/bapfpoccgpihfmdaigglhnpkklhacmge?hl=en It's basically a download manager for the browser, I dunno if any other browsers have any similar since all I use is chrome
The attitude in this forum is so annoying, jeez. A lot of other games have a built in download limiter - i made a suggestion because this game is lacking it, so it's up to the devs to decide whether or not to implement it. Thanks to @BallisticDK for having common sense and @dragonfire43 for actual helping. Edit: And @amon_igre, don't think i'm not gonna pay 50 bucks for that but worth testing.
