Log Vehicle Stats (Research) UI App not working

When I try to use the Log Vehicle Stats app the vehicle is no longer controllable. When I check the LUA console it shows Fatal lua error and from what I can tell it is something to do with finding the vehicles position. It then disables control of the vehicle and I need to reload with a new vehicle to try again.

I disabled 'general' so position will no longer be logged. I get no errors, and can drive the vehicle. But the log files only add the labels to the columns temporarily, adding no further data. Then shortly after not even the column names are in the files and no data at all is added.
