Hello everyone. This is the first time I've put this much effort into scratch-made car model so far. The fact that I can finally send mods to the public probably motivated me so much to do it. The progress will probably take really long and I will most likely learn new things in the meantime, to speed up the process. The Opel Meriva A was always something I wanted to add to game, because of the fact that we don't have any sub-compact minivan in the game and community seems to love these little cars, secondly, because it has only one bodystyle and lastly, Opel's from this period are pretty easy to model. I still need some real-life reference pictures of the car, because the blueprints can't reach the lower half of the doors, sideskirts and a little part of fenders from every needed perspective and that's the only part I will struggle with. --- Post updated --- The car is probably going to be lore-friendly and will be called Roth Matrix, if I will not come up with an other name.
I do remember asking that, don't worry. I will change the thread's name then. --- Post updated --- --- Post updated ---
Tailgate, taillamps glass and rear bumper are pretty much finnished. When all edges will be finished, I'm starting to fill them with -edges- I mean, faces
Another progress footage --- Post updated --- Click to watch the GIF. --- Post updated --- The bottom end of the doors and front bumper need some tweaks.
That's the pretty much finished polyflow. You can see the quality may vary, depending on where you look, but it's not that bad I think. --- Post updated --- Next step is to "equalize" (if that's even a word) the polygon amount on the roof and other panels, so I can fill them mostly with quads. --- Post updated --- Also, as you can see, I've changed the threads name, so it's more clear for new viewers that it's not going to be a one-to-one replica.
no but i think you can use it if you want to because the website i got it from doesnt say anything about that yoo you are also from poland
By the way, I've actually tried to make one, starting from the side of the car, which was not right, but I wasn't satisfied of the model and these pixelated blueprints I was using. --- Post updated --- Today, I will be able to do progress just in the evening. --- Post updated --- And I will try to send you guys a screenshot of this old unfinished model.
Yo @waboll . Do you mind if he uses the "Roth" name? --- Post updated --- I think its great when lore friendly "replica" cars have their own minor design tweaks/changes instead of being a 100% rebadged replica. Can't wait to see where this mod goes! Also, don't be afraid to use a vanilla cars Jbeam as a starting point if you need help.
