Loss of power on Automatic using shift over-ride

When using an over-ride gear like "2" or "1" and then going back to Drive, the car loses power like there is friction on it, even though the engine is under full load still and in the same gear.

This happens on stock cars too, just here i am using a sound mod and custom intake, this happens to Moonhawk and Barstow confirmed. not tried on others.

You can see in the video, changing from "2" to D almost stops the car from accelerating. Going past 70 you can see it barely accelerates. This issue clears up if the car shifts gear in Drive, so letting off the power and going into 3rd releases the friction and so acceleration is restored.

 

I can confirm this happens with an unmodded game. I have experienced this with the Moonhawk detective car and it feels like it is in too high of a gear even though it isn't.
