    Hello,

After not playing BeamNG for a few months I've started playing again today. I used to be able to play the game without any fps problems. Now however I get around 10 FPS on the grid map with any car and with minimal fps difference between all quality settings. I've messed around with all in-game settings and nothing seems to increase the fps. If I pause the game the FPS goes up to around 60.

My CPU is a Intel Core i5-4690K currently not overclocked and the GPU an ASUS GTX970.

Thanks in advance for the help,
    Sam

Do you have anything significant running in the background?

Nope, BeamNG is the only thing running.

Check your power settings. Are they set to allow for maximum performance?

Check out your temperatures using Piriform Speccy. If your CPU average is over 80 degrees celcius, your CPU will slow itself down so it doesn't burn itself out.

    Also, is your GTX970 Overclocked?

My power settings are set to allow for maximum performance.
The average tempreature of my CPU is only 31 degrees and my GTX970 is not overclocked.

Load Gridmap (do not move the camera or the vehicle)
Go to options > gameplay > enable 'Advanced Mode'
In the sidemene there should be a new button named 'PERFORMANCE'
Press it and let the graphs fill the screen.
Press ALT+O and paste the link for the image here.

Physics bottleneck, shouldn't happen with a 4690K. Check CPU temperatures and per-core load while playing - use MSI Afterburner or HWmonitor, run the game for a minute or two then check max temp/usage.

What about memory as well I am guessing your running 16GB and possibly an Air cooler on that processor...

Looks normal. No idea what's going on, best you can do is go through standard troubleshooting steps.
    1. Delete game cache
    2. Check GPU drivers (latest Nvidia drivers 364.x have been known to cause issues, roll back to 361.x or 362.x if you have those) - this shouldn't be a problem since you're CPU bound, but do it anyway
    3. If issues persist reinstall game
    4. Install game on a clean OS install - make a small (~30GB) partition on your hard drive, install Windows in it and install BeamNG.

I have 8 GB of memory and it's using around 3.5 GB while playing. And yes I'm using an air cooler ..

@BlueScreen I will try those steps, even though I've already been through most of them. I won't do a clean OS install however, since that takes too much time and effort and is not worth it for me right now. Anyway thanks for all the help so far and hopefully one of those steps will fix the problem.
