To be honest, I thought I had a pretty decent budget build of a PC

    Intel Core i3 3220 @ 3.33 Ghz
    6 gig of Samsung Memory
    AMD R9 270 2GB
I do have a lower resolution monitor ( 1360x 768) But if anything, that should improve the FPS...

Speaking I can play something like Battlefield 4 on high/ultra settings around 50-60 FPS, it makes me wonder why I get in the low 30s and mostly 20s FPS...
Turning the graphics down hardly does anything for me performance wise, about 5 extra FPS at most. CPU bottleneck?

Yes, CPU bottleneck. Dual core with Hyperthreading isn't going to do much for this game.

Well, it could also be slow memory. Any idea what the timings/bus speed are on that Samsung stuff, and if it's running dual or single channel?

Just before you start writing your christmas list, i suggest you make sure none of your power settings are on power saver, put them all onto maximum performance if you haven't done so already. :)

It's not cpu bottleneck if he just uses 1 vehicle.

As for the memory, Its a 1600 Mhz kit, a 4 and 2 gig setup. I dont know about the timing.

My power settings have always been on high performance. EVGA 500W 80 plus

The 3220 doesn't have turbo (no i3's do IIRC) 3.3Ghz is much too slow for most cars. I use all 4.3 of mine, and it scales near perfectly. For cars like the moonhawk I recommend at least 3.6Ghz on a modern node. I think that scales to about 3.8 on Ivy, 4.0 on Sandy, and 4.4+ on Nehalem.
The 2c/4t on the 3220 should handle about 2-3 cars if it was faster.

EDIT: Anything above the base 1033Mhz of DDR3 doesn't do much for beamNG. The haswell refresh is currently the best for beamNG as they have stock turbos of 4.0 and 4.4 (Holy crap I know) for the 4690k and 4790k. Rumor says the next one (skylake?) will have much higher clocks plus a "tock" arch improvement so should be much faster. Should be around holidays 2014 but that might only be mobile. Q2 2015 I think would be the latest.

3.3 is not slow for sandy/ivy/haswell. Mine at 3.3 can handle any vehicle except the t75, but with my overclock to 4Ghz I can handle even 2 t75 with 60+ fps.

My 4670k starts slowing down with the T75 at stock. (3.6) I imagine 3.3 would slow down the moonhawk and H45 too. Also, 2 T75s mean nothing once you've got one. It goes multicore then.

I tried mine at stock (3.4Ghz with turbo) and it was super laggy, just one t75 and 24 fps, but 98fps at 4Ghz.
