I am quite impressed with how well this game runs on my low end desktop. I have an all in one Dell desktop with integrated graphics (I know it's bad), but after a little fiddling with the settings I am able to run at about 35fps on gridmap and low 30fps for other levels. For a game like this I'm surprised it worked quite well for me. I just want to congratulate the people who make this game and show that even for this you don't need high end. But I will say it's much preferred because there's the occasional hiccups in the game with my computer, like when near highly dense forests on East Coast USA I'll get weird lag spikes is how I'd describe them. Anyways keep up the work on the game, you all are doing an amazing job and once I finish building a gaming pc I'd like to see how much I can push the game to its limits.
They have done a great job on making this game run even on very low end PCs. I have a laptop and it plays it 25-30FPS stable, and for a game like this, is really rather amazing. They also made it better if you have a high end PC, mine being a good example: you could have a mobile i3 with integrated graphics, and it run 30FPS, albeit at lowest settings, then you have a high end gaming PC like mine that will have to really try to keep this game running well. The point I'm making (or trying to make at least) is that they make a wide graphical range from the very low end to the very high end. Although this game depends a lot more on CPU than other games. If you have a better CPU than GPU then you will run this game better than having a lesser CPU and better GPU, the normal way it is set up. If they keep optimizing this game and making performance improvements, this will be one of the best running games and amazing design I ever have come across. And I agree, congratulations to the people who make this game and thank you for getting me back into PC gaming again.
Yes it's not bad at all with low settings. I still find it better than the majority of my console games, and since I finally have a working ps3 controller for my computer it makes games like this a peice of cake to play. But this game revived my feeling in pc gaming since most people don't cater to lower end gamers like myself.
What did you use to get the PS3 controller to work, I have tried many a time to get it to work but because I'm on Windows 7 it just refuses.
Ehhh it's not easy - let's just say I used the program-that-shall-not-be-named that everyone recommends but most likely contains malware, but I fiddled around with it and removed the references to the sketchy websites. I then used DS3 tool which while itself isn't malware, but runs off of program-that-shall-not-be-named. Some tweaking with drivers later and problems were solved. The point is my PS3 controller works with Windows 7 Ultimate.
It's a program called scarlet crush, it makes the computer recognize it as a 360 controller. If you'd like I can Pm you the link because I don't want to get people confused. But it's a ds3 program but don't use a program called motionjoy, it's terrible. - - - Updated - - - It's not too difficult actually, as long as you follow instructions to the point. Took me five minutes to do, what DS3 program did you use?
If you could PM me the link that would be great, I really don't want to give Microsoft more fucking money for an XBOX controller and I have 2 perfectly-ish working PS3 wireless controllers sitting on my desk.
Can do, I'll send it your way.I just don't wanna post it here for fear someone may use it and screw up completely and I'd be at blame.
Ds3 uses motionjoy as its backend. There is an open source ps3 controller driver called scp. It does not use motioninjoy, being open source can be confirmed non malicious and generally works better anyway: http://emulation-general.wikia.com/wiki/SCP_Driver_Package
Yes that's what scarlet crush is I mentioned before. That's the program you use to set up and it's the scp stuff and all. I thoroughly go through what ever I download enough to know never to use motionjoy.
I've tried motionjoy. Within about 30 seconds I just uninstalled it, it was awful and even though I was young and foolish, that even looked suspicious. Thank god for people who actually do this stuff so we don't have to go out and throw money at a company that will probably, one day, take over the world. Either them or Disney.
Well I guess they are giving us Windows 10 for free, I bet though they'll release a statement that says: WINDOWS 10 IS FREE FOR OWNERS OF WINDOWS 7 AND 8 1 YEAR AFTER RELEASE Pay £100 after 3 months of use to continue activation and prevent us from coming round your house and breaking your knee caps
Who knows, they could be nice, or they could be complete dicks. All I want is a better operating system than Windows 8. Saying that Microsoft BOB is better than Windows-bloody-8, and I have tried it before, for a laugh.
8 is alright, prefer 7 for the feel 8 for performance. But if I'm really gonna play a heavy cpu game I'll just boot up Ubuntu.
I shall quote myself instead: Ubuntu = piece of crap. Vista was better. Plenty of better distros out there. Personal favourite, crunchbang.
