Hello, Here is my little conversion project from the game Mafia : The City Of Lost Heaven, I think that some people will recognize it. It's my first mod for Beam NG so I try to learn how it work, I hope I will get some help because for now there is still some problems on it. : p If it will succed, I have more conversion planed in the future and one scratch track. Some pictures of the progress : ---- First v 0.1 beta released v 0.2 : - Removed pin-up. - New road in construction when you go left at the Motel, to go more quickly to the Port and Tutorial area. - Fixed tree material missing in the forest part of the Circuit. - Fixed polygons on the road af the port entry. v 0.3 : - Clouds - Racing track moved to an other place (north-east) - Barrers collision partially fixed - Materials optimisation - Mesh optimisation v 0.3.1 : - Fixed crash
This is looking awesome, remember that racing mission very well, wasnt easy at all, but what a great game it was!
Yes, all the game is awesome ! I will finally try to import multiple environments and maybe unite them into one big, if it's not too heavy. Here is the airport : The next ones are : - The Motel - The Port - The complete countryside - The farm - The tutorial map Unfortunatly I can't import the city for now because its files are different and a bit long to decrypt.: /
This is so cool, Mafia is really one of my alltime favorite game and never though I will be able to play it through beamng.. How do you convert it though? Its awesome work!
Yeah, it's very nice to play on it with better lighting and shadows ! I perform with a friend to reverse enginering the scene2.bin and .4ds file format from the game, then I wrote an importer filter for Cinema 4D, and an export script to create muiltiple DAE objects, mission file and materials.cs ready for BeamNG. Here is the port and the tutorial map, there is still some materials and collision problem but it's on a good way : I will also try to add original ambiant sounds if it's possible.
Complete countryside imported with original ambiant sounds ! It looked a bit more detailled in my souvenir, but it's still a nostalgic pleasure !
I have a question.. The terrain materials will work like they should right? I mean, the asphalt is asphalt, the grass is grass etc etc etc
Yes, materials surface are respected. For the moment I just have some problems with objects supposed to be dynamic, like barrels and boxes. Don't know how to do for now, but probably !

(see the first post to download) It includes : - Countryside - Motel - Port - Circuit - Farm - Airport - Tutorial level - Original textures - Original sounds Please let me know or take a screenshot if you see any mesh/texture problem, collision bug, inadapted surface or weird sounds effects. To do : - Add dynamic objects - More sounds - Add lights - Fill some holes in the terrain - HD textures ?
