Make a copy of an existing vehicle to mod, while keeping the original

I like adding power to the vehicles in beamng to mess around, do wheelies, destroy things, etc. however, i think it would be awesome if i could make a copy of the file, rename it, and have two of the same vehicle(one that i modded and one stock). When i tried this the copy will always show up in the vehicle list but never load. What else do i have to do?

 

Just add your mods as parts to the jbeam files. Then you can select your modified part in game and you still have the option to choose the original parts.

Just look at a car that already has more than one engine for example the pickup.
Basically you make a copy of the part you want to edit and paste it. Rename the part and edit it's values.
I would recommend using Notepad++ and the jbeam plugin.

It's simple but you have to take a look at the syntax.
