On slow connections, it can be frustrating when you select an image to see it larger, and it disappears. Maybe we could have it load the low-resolution thumbnail size image (like what you see before you click it) but not load it, like just resize it into the frame (hard to explain, but you click on it and the same photo is enlarged, not a new one that is loaded). And then it will load in a high resolution image, and once it has finished downloading it replaces the low-res image into the high res image.

I don't know if this can be done, it may need risky changes in the forum core which are always best avoided for upgrade-ability's sake. Also not sure if it's really worth putting time into this, thumbnails are rather small.
yeah what i meant is that you click on the picture, and it scales up the thumbnail to the size of the picture viewer screen, and loads in the high res photo, once it has loaded, it will display the high res photo instead. It's a small change, not really necessary but it would be nice.
