I would absolutely love if you all could implement this simple (I think) feature for shifters.
Say, for example, that I am in first gear and I reset a vehicle. The gear resets to neutral once respawned even though the shifter is still in first gear. This isn't a huge problem for me, but it is kind of annoying having to reset the gear every time.
I feel this would be relatively easy to implement (although I really have no idea how difficult it would be). Assetto Corsa already does this just as an example. I am using a Thrustmaster TX with a TH8A shifter.

Yep, I agree. It'd make the overall experience for steering wheel users so much better. It's just minor annoyance, but it gets so frustrating over time.

Yeah I agree, it gets very irritating sometimes.

I would think that After spawning in neutral state there should be query to controller state, because otherwise you might end up into all kind of bug situations, it is bit odd that shifter state is not queried, maybe it is bug or maybe it just had not come up before?

You guys should be more careful and you'll have this problem less!

But as stated above, a query to your H-shifter upon respawn should fix this problem without too much trouble to the devs.
