I think if someone made a game that's kinda like automation but for maps that would be amazing, so many more maps would be created, and people get build there own maps with not to much effort.
it really cant get any simpler than the map editor, maybe only it could be made so you dont have to create a custom map folder to start your project and import the assets manually, but just add a new map button or something which does it for you.
It's pretty simple - perhaps a steep learning curve, but that's to be expected with such a high quality sim.
