maya 3d help

    I am trying to make a mod and I am using maya 3d 2013
    the problem is that its in the wrong axis and I want to rotate it so when I doo different parts stays in place and rotates in place
    so could someone pls help me its the first time I do a mod so I am a complete noooooooob in maya
