So, my fps has gotten even worse than last time i made a thread about fps issues,
Ive noticed in 0.24 that the fps i get is worse than what i got on 0.21, 0.22 and 0.23, as it stands in 0.24 im getting by default 80fps when in 0.23 i got 150 and with 10 cars i get 30fps when in 0.23 i get 60, yada yada you get the point,
At first i thought it was some sort of failing hardware, but when i went back to 0.23 about 10 mins ago and got 150 fps with one car and 60 with 10, i realised it must be to do with the game, even the camera was better with 10 cars in 0.23 than it is by default in 0.24, in 0.24 it stutters like heck, even on gridmap.
Im not sure what has happened to beamng in 0.24, but it has really killed it for me.
Edit: activating the setting “vertical sync” fixed the issue, i can run italy on ultra and its like a dream

Same, my computer can barely run BeamNG now, a year earlier I can play Italy and post discussion on game discussion on Steam API and comment on this forum via Firefox without running into RAM issue. Starting AI vehicle movements were also much faster back in the days.

More ram is certainly needed for BeamNG nowadays.
I believe the requirements should be updated to 16 GB, I had bottlenecks running 8 GB.

It says my pc has 128 gb of ram on google
Edit: it is 16 gb, google came up with the storage
yeah beamng takes up 100% of my gpu or cpu, it takes days to download a file with it open and chrome bearly works

The minnimum requirements for ram is 8gb for the vanilla game, no mods as it can just run the game, 16gb is the recomended amount for the best time if you install any mods in my opinion.

    Well,
Turns out it was a mixture of things,
The game had created half a billion backups of itself going back to version 0.22
The ultra graphics maul your fps like heck.

the fps still isnt as good as it was, but its better

Do you have an AMD cpu? 0.24 seems to have severe AMD performance issues

Yeah that CPU should be fine for Beam, and it isn't AMD. Maybe the performance issues of 0.24 weren't just limited to AMD CPUs like I thought. It has definitely been noticeably worse for me. Performance with traffic on is more than halved, same with my FPS compared to how it was pre-0.24

With how long it's been in development for, I'd be pretty upset if it hasn't improved. Same with the memory leak issues, hopefully they're gone now

They'd probably have updated their recommended specs on the Steam page by now if that was to be the case, they still only recommend a GTX 980 and a CPU from a similar period as that iirc

For reference, safe mode was attempted together with reinstall of game and new user folder.

I remembered wrong though, I thought the recommended actually said 8 GB but I see it says 16 :)

Mine also sometimes randomly drop to like 5fps for a about 5 seconds and then back up to 60 for 5 seconds and then back to 5 again randomly. It only happens for a few minutes and then it goes back to normal again. I thought my gpu was broken.
