DO NOT REPLY ANY HATRID Hello Everybody! Sorry about the red text, but I need to get that out. I recently download a 3d model of a 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan, and I plan on exporting it to Beamng. (If I can get some help with this I'll release it.) The problem is I don't know how to export it, and get the lights and engine sounds etc. Any help would be appreciated!
Prepare model in Blender according to vehicle modeling guidelines https://documentation.beamng.com/modding/modelling/vehicle_modeling/ Textures https://documentation.beamng.com/modding/materials/materials_1.5/ Create Beam structure so the car actually has physics https://documentation.beamng.com/modding/vehicle/intro_jbeam/ Create necessary JBeam files to tell the game all required properties of the car. Look at vanilla cars or exported Automation cars to get an idea of the file structure Engine sounds you can copy from an Automation export, just create a similar engine there. Might lower the gain a bit, they tend to be louder than vanilla cars
This is very helpful, but I haven't got a clue on how JBeams work. Rn, I'm trying to make more of a meshlap type thing. In later spare time, I'll do Jbeams. Mods like NET_NUKA_FIRBY's mods.
"Jbeams" aren't exclusive to certain mods. Even so-called meshslaps use Jbeam to make the physics skeleton of the cars. I always suggest people to start with simpler projects, like a wheel or a spoiler, to learn the basics of how BeamNG modding works. Making a full car as your first mod is exactly how you abandon after a few days.
What those mods do is take the jbeams from a car like the Pessima and just change the location of the wheel until it looks kinda right. Of course it will drive nothing like the car and also crashes will not look good, spikes and all. Of course you can do this for your own enjoyment of you really want to look at the 3d model ingame
Well taking that info from someone who knows there way around mods, I'll probably start with that stuff. I'm very new to blender, so it will be hard to model a facelift Pessima or a Whole car. I'll read up on tutorials. Thanks more the advice!
