I recently started a map based on the filming location of Mad Max fury road. I then started working on some dirty decal roads, but in the distance, they are looking ugly, pointy, like little moving ants on the screen. Does anyone can help me out with those artifacts? I tried a lot of guides but they wont fix it :C (pic for reference)

Pretty sure you also have to apply some settings to the decals, should be in that long info list thing when you select the decal when having World Editor open.

Do you think it is any of these options? I changed the road texture back to default now, as mine was all laggy lol

Cuz the mipmap options appear when saving the texture as .DDS from Paint.net
btw I have no idea what those red areas are XD

I actually did activated the mipmaps option when saving as .DDS in paint.net. There area a lot of options, I tried all of them and the texture still gets this strange noise. I even tried editing it's options in the materials editor inside the game engine (F11).
I'll still try other programs and configuration combinations, but this should be straight forward right?

I searched for a .DDS guide, but all I found was an old one in the official modding page (I had the same problem when searching for mapping guides), I was not aware of this newer one. I'll follow it and tell you guys what happens.
I will follow the guide Brother_Dave sent, and feedback asap.

I also have experienced this issue, I have tried both gimp and paint.net's dds exporters with mip mapping enabled but beamng seems to ignore the mip maps.

I'm using mostly Nvidia DDS tools. Actually it is DDS converter 1.4 that I start as it is UI for DDS tools which makes things easier:

I don't think that I have had issues with mipmaps, but then again I have not made much road textures either (like none). However thought to mention that if someone likes to test if it works any better.
