I looked around in the suggestion beyond the spammed garbage that makes no sense but saw things like reverse cameras in them, So i thought if... ( heavy emphesis on if because i have no clue if this engine even supports this way of renderening 2 viewpoints at once) ...they would implement this then why not add them on the mirrors?
picture on picture. Its what beamng uses to make reflections. Renders a second screen inside the car mirrors and reflections.
Aren't refections essentially that? The scene is rendered from 6 different points of view around the car and then they are mapped on the body. There's an interesting post by nadeox in this thread: https://www.beamng.com/threads/dont-like-so-ugly-mirrors.67289/page-2 where he explains how they work. There's an earlier post in that thread where someone disables the normal map of the mirror and then they look "fine" (without any distortion I'm guessing).
Thanks for explaining. But The problem with beamng is that dynamic reflection really eat performance, So i would suggest changing the Mirror sytem to a screen type and 2 or 3 cameras on the places of where the mirrors are
I dont know if that's possible without picture in picture. Im not a code wizard, but as far as i know, and i COULD be wrong, every single videogame of racing with mirrors use picture in picture. And even back in the 90's, if you disabled Need for speed 3's mirrors, you would gain performance.
