I bought 3 Simagic HPRs plus SimHub and put them on my pedals. I was hoping to use them to replace the sort of brake lock and tire slip FFB that Beam largely lacks. So far results are mixed. There’s a an effect for brake lock that after a lot of tuning does seem to fairly reliably to give you a taste of the sort of feedback that is very obvious in the real world when you lock up or on the verge of locking up your front tires. However, for whatever reason it only works braking in a STRAIGHT line. If I’m in a turn I can lock up the inside tire and it does nothing. So meh usefulness. There’s another effect that claims to do wheel slip vibration using an algorithm. Since Beam doesn’t share that information directly. But all I can do is NOT vibrate when I do a burn out, then START vibrating when I’m at high speed and almost ready to upshift. So useless. Loss of lateral traction does what it says on the tin, I guess that could be kind of useful. Then there are all the things SimHub says Beam doesn’t support, namely proper slip feedback, ABS and TC effects. Needless to say I’m a bit disappointed. The game needs more FFB hints about what the car is doing in the worst way, ESPECIALLY if it’s focusing on a Motorsport like Rally. At BARE MINIMUM a vibration effect for tire locks/slips and ABS through the wheel ala the great Assetto Corsa damn sure ought to be part of the game natively, since you better believe you can feel a spinning/locked tire and ABS kicking in in the real world. --- Post updated --- Update: After running the haptics thru the SH plugin for Beam that comes with the software instead of Outgsug etc it is now working pretty much EXACTLY as I hoped it would in Beam. I have pretty good pedal feedback on when I’m spinning my wheels or locking my brakes.
